What's the name of the movie that had a little boy and a talking butterfly?

I'm an 80's kid, but I can't remember if the movie was released in the
80's or earlier.. All I remember from the story is that a little boy
somehow got a butterfly, and one day the butterfly was drawn away by
the moon and flew off... Anyone ever seen it??
